Julie Simonelli

Julie is an experienced college counselor who develops positive and effective relationships with students and parents. She most recently worked in a private high school and as an Independent College Counselor for students in the East Bay. She is currently a member of both NACAC, National Association for College Admission Counseling and WACAC, its Western affiliate.

Her experience includes: course advisement; evaluating transcripts; timeline planning for the SAT and/or ACT; financial aid and scholarship research. She is highly trained and experienced in helping students to develop their personal statement, University of California Personal Insight Questions and supplemental essays.

Julie’s emphasis is on helping students and their families find the best fit college taking into consideration a student’s social and emotional development, academic record, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. She enjoys working with students as early as freshman year by the providing the following services: guiding them academically; selection of extracurricular activities; exploring enrichment and volunteer opportunities. These planning services will ultimately set them up for a strong college application senior year.

Julie has a Bachelor of Science in International Business. In addition, she has a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. Julie and her husband John recently moved to the Tahoe area from Walnut Creek, California. Their son Jimmy is a Biochemistry major at the University of Denver and their daughter Lauren is a freshman at Chapman University. Julie is available for in- person appointments in the Tahoe Tutoring office in Incline Village.
